Your Questions, Answered

  • I work with adults (18+) across Ontario. I support people navigating concerns around chronic pain, parenting, depression, caregiving, spirituality, autism, chronic illness, ADHD, stress, burnout, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, life transitions, relationship issues, identity, self-esteem, emotional regulation and much more.

While I work with individuals across a wide range of concerns and life experiences, I have a special interest in working with folks who are living with chronic illness and neurodivergence (ADHD or autism).

  • People come to therapy for many reasons—sometimes with a clear goal, sometimes just a sense that something isn’t working. You don’t need to have it all figured out to begin.

  • Therapy with me is collaborative, paced, and shaped around your unique needs, goals, and lived experience. Our work may include reflective exploration, practical tools, or both, always guided by safety, choice, and what feels most supportive for you.

  • Yes. All sessions are offered virtually using a secure platform-Jane video conferencing. You’ll need a private space, a stable internet connection, and a device you feel comfortable using.

  • Standard sessions are 50 minutes in length. I also offer 90-minute sessions and double sessions. I recommend starting weekly for 10-12 sessions, but it varies depending on each person’s context and circumstances. I typically see people on a weekly or biweekly basis, and frequency can change over time based on your needs and capacity.

  • Yes. I offer a free 30-minute virtual consultation so you can ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and see if working together feels like a good fit. I suggest virtual rather than phone for consultations so you can get a more authentic experience of what therapy with me will feel like.

  • My fee for individual sessions is $150. 90-minute and double sessions are prorated based on this fee. Payment is due on the day of the session, and receipts are provided for insurance purposes. I accept e-transfer and credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, AMEX).

  • Many insurance plans cover services provided by Registered Psychotherapists. Coverage varies, so it’s best to check directly with your provider.

  • Confidentiality is a core part of psychotherapy. What you share in therapy is kept private and protected, with a few legal exceptions, such as concerns about serious risk of harm, abuse of a child or vulnerable person, or when records are legally required. These limits are reviewed before we begin, and you’re always welcome to ask questions about confidentiality.

  • It’s very common to feel unsure about starting therapy. You don’t need to have things figured out before you begin. You can always book a no-pressure consultation to discuss whether the therapy I offer is right for you.

  • Getting started is simple. You can reach out through my contact form to book a free consultation to ask questions and see whether working together feels like a good fit. You can also email me at rikkilee.epp.psychotherapy@gmail.com. There’s no obligation—just a chance to connect and explore next steps.

  • The length of therapy varies from person to person. Some people come for short-term support around a specific concern, while others choose to engage in longer-term work. We check in regularly and adjust as your needs, goals, and circumstances evolve.

  • As a Registered Psychotherapist, I do not diagnose medical conditions or prescribe medication. If medication or a medical assessment feels important, I can support you in connecting with your physician or another appropriate healthcare provider.
